Mission
The mission of the Outreach Commission of St.
Vincent de Paul Parish is to serve those in need in the St. Vincent de Paul
Community through programs and services with dignity and respect.
Vision
It is the vision of the Outreach Commission to be a
dynamic, highly visible ministry that models and fosters a fully
engaged, socially responsible Parish known for providing those in
need with hope and self-esteem, in a safe, caring environment.

Seton Food Pantry
(Operates Tue, every week, year round) - Supplies groceries,
donated by parishioner and purchased through the Greater
Chicago Food Depository, to over 160 families once a month
in the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Room. |

Food Drives (October – December, February – March)
- Organized for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Lent.
Involves collecting and distributing the food.
The result of these drives is an extra bag of groceries for
our pantry families during the holiday season. |

Seton Sandwich Kitchen
(Operates Tue - Sat, every week, year-round)
- Serving 100 (and often more) hungry and homeless
in the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Room. |

Hunger
Walk (June) - Chicago Food Depository Hunger Walk.
Raised over $5,100 for the Pantry in June 2004. |

Making Sandwiches (Every Saturday)
- Make sandwiches for the entire week that will be served each morning through the Sandwich Kitchen. |

St. Vincent’s School Supply Drive (July and August)
- Organized to supply K - 8th graders at St.
Philomena school with essential school supplies. |

Assembling Hygiene Kits (Every 6 - 8 weeks)
- The kits are made by volunteers and are distributed to the 100+ homeless who come to our sandwich window, as well as the poor who come to our food pantry. Do you travel and stay in hotels? Then, please save us the soaps, shampoos, conditioners, etc. Also, if you are ever wondering what else to donate, we could use razors, small travel-size toothpaste and toothbrushes, and small combs - we have to buy these items. |

Christmas Gift Program (November and December)
- A Parish-wide effort that involves collecting, sorting, and distributing the names of donees and the collection and distribution of the gifts. Last year over 1,200 gifts were distributed, making this one of our largest efforts. |
