Mission
The Special Events Commission serves the pastor,
parishioners and staff as the focal point for community building activities.
We periodically assess existing and potential events and ensure that
each event undertaken is successfully completed.
We want these events to foster a vibrant parish community that
engages a broad spectrum of parishioners,
both to financially support the church and to build strong and deep community ties.

Activities
-
Sheffield Garden Walk -
Every July, while the bands rock in our parking lot and the neighboring gardens blossom,
St. Vincent's parishioners enjoy this summer festival.
We raise money for the Seton Food Pantry by operating several food and drink tents
just outside our Sheffield Avenue doors.
See the Sheffield Garden Walk
page for current information.
-
Doughnut Socials - If you're new to St. Vincent's,
or just want to meet other parishioners, come to the monthly Doughnut Social
and learn more about the activities of the parish community.
The "Doughnut Date" is held the second Sunday of each Month immediately following
the 10:00 am Mass.
See the current Weekly Bulletin
for any changes to this schedule.
-
Other Activities -
The Special Events Commission also organizes events such:
Sports outings (group visits to Cubs games).
Gaming and social nights (formerly the Groundhog Gala).
Rededication of the Church.
Reception for the 125th Anniversary of the parish.
