Campaign for the Future
Fr. Pat's Letter to Parishioners (Oct. 2008)
Make use of God’s gifts quite simply. -- St.Vincent de Paul, 1643
As you saw during the summer months the front of our church received a new face lift. The stone gable — the A formation of stone — over the front entrance was leaning, suffering some deterioration, and showed the effects of serious moisture problems. The gable was dismantled and put back in place with stainless steel rod reinforcement. Now it is ready for the next 133 years. (See the photos below for a brief tour of the reconstruction.) The cost of this construction project was $130,000. Now we need to pay our bill and at the same time replenish our building fund so that we can maintain our beautiful church building for the years ahead. These are still some projects left undone:
Our Campaign for the Future is aiming at $150,000. We presently have $52,500 in hand. Our hope is to collect the remainder of our goal by December 6, 2008. Thank you for you continued support of our mission, programs, and facility here at St. Vincent’s. It will prepare us for the future. As a parish we have been here since 1875 and we intend to be here through the next century. With your help and support that will happen.
